If you’re experiencing urinary pain or discomfort, try CVS Health Urinary Pain Relief Tablets. These tablets contain 95 mg phenazopyridine hydrochloride each to help with relief support. Use them as needed to help relieve the feelings of pain, burning, and urgency associated with urinary problems. Compare this product to the active ingredient in Azo Standard .
Adults and children ages 12 and older may take two tablets three times daily with a glass of water. You may take them with or after a meal as needed. For children under the age of 12, please consult with your doctor before using this product. Do not take these tablets for more than two days in a row without consulting a doctor first.
Store the CVS Health Urinary Pain Relief Tablets at room temperature and keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Only take them for temporary issues associated with painful urination. What Are Some Things I Need To Know Or Do While I Take This Drug
Tell all of your health care providers that you take this drug. This includes your doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists. This drug is not to be used instead of an antibiotic. It will not cure a bladder infection. This drug may stain clothing or fabric. Protect clothing and fabrics from staining. This drug may stain contact lenses. Do not wear contact lenses while using this drug. This drug may change the color of urine or stools to an orange or red color. This is normal and not harmful. Be careful if you have G6PD deficiency. Anemia may happen. Do not take this drug for longer than you were told by your doctor. This drug may affect certain lab tests. Tell all of your health care providers and lab workers that you take this drug. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan on getting pregnant, or are breast-feeding. You will need to talk about the benefits and risks to you and the baby.

Pyridium Makes Urine Orange
Phenazopyridine is essentially a dye that soothes the lining of the urinary tract. In most people, it darkens the color of the urine to an orange or red color. This is not harmful and is expected with the use of phenazopyridine. However, it may cause permanent stains on underwear. People who use soft contact lenses should avoid using them while on treatment with this drug as it can stain them permanently.

What Other Information Should I Know
Keep all appointments with your doctor and the laboratory. Your doctor will order certain lab tests to check your response to phenazopyridine.
Phenazopyridine can interfere with laboratory tests, including urine tests for glucose and ketones. If you have diabetes, you should use Clinitest rather than Tes-Tape or Clinistix to test your urine for sugar. Urine tests for ketones may give false results. Before you have any tests, tell the laboratory personnel and doctor that you take this medication.
Phenazopyridine stains clothing and contact lenses. Avoid wearing contact lenses while taking this medicine.
Do not let anyone else take your medication. Your prescription is probably not refillable.
If you still have symptoms after you finish the phenazopyridine, call your doctor.
It is important for you to keep a written list of all of the prescription and nonprescription medicines you are taking, as well as any products such as vitamins, minerals, or other dietary supplements. You should bring this list with you each time you visit a doctor or if you are admitted to a hospital. It is also important information to carry with you in case of emergencies.
Side Effects Of Pyridium
Most people tolerate this medication well. The most common side effects include headache, dizziness, and upset stomach. Rarely, more serious adverse effects may occur. Patients are advised to call the doctor for medical advice if symptoms are severe or persistent. Phenazopyridine is not recommended in patients with kidney disease.

How To Take Pyridium How Many Days Can You Take Phenazopyridine
As with all medications, it should be taken exactly as prescribed in terms of both dosage and duration of treatment. It is recommended to take phenazopyridine after meals and to drink plenty of water while on this medication. The usual dosage is 100-200 mg three times a day.
Duration of treatment with Pyridium should not exceed 5 days unless advised otherwise by the urologist. Treatment with phenazopyridine can lead to unusual results on urine tests. Patients must advise their physician if they are using over-the-counter or prescription Pyridium.

PHENAZOPYRIDINE is a pain reliever. It is used to stop the pain, burning, or discomfort caused by infection or irritation of the urinary tract. This medicine is not an antibiotic. It will not cure a urinary tract infection.

Precautions While Using Pyridium
Check with your doctor if symptoms such as bloody urine, difficult or painful urination, frequent urge to urinate, or sudden decrease in the amount of urine appear or become worse while you are taking this medicine .
Phenazopyridine causes the urine to turn reddish orange . This is to be expected while you are using it. This effect is harmless and will go away after you stop taking the medicine. Also, the medicine may stain clothing.
For patients who wear soft contact lenses:
- It is best not to wear soft contact lenses while being treated with this medicine. Phenazopyridine may cause discoloration or staining of contact lenses. It may not be possible to remove the stain.
For diabetic patients:
- This medicine may cause false test results with urine sugar tests and urine ketone tests. If you have any questions about this, check with your health care professional, especially if your diabetes is not well controlled.
Before you have any medical tests, tell the person in charge that you are taking this medicine. The results of some tests may be affected by this medicine.
What Do I Do If I Miss A Dose
If you take this drug on a regular basis, take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Many times this drug is taken on an as needed basis. Do not take more often than told by the doctor.

What Should I Watch For While Using This Medicine

This medicine colors body fluids red. This effect is harmless and will go away after you are done taking the medicine. It will change urine to an dark orange or red color. The red color may stain clothing. Soft contact lenses may become permanently stained. It is best not to wear soft contact lenses while taking this medicine.
If you are diabetic you may get a false positive result for sugar in your urine. Talk to your health care provider.

Pyridium Helps With Urinary Burning And Pain
Phenazopyridine helps to alleviate symptoms such as pain, burning, and urgency caused by irritation of the urinary tract.
