What Voids The Sleep Number Bed Warranty
There are a lot of things that can void a mattress warranty. Here are the things you dont want to do if you want to keep your mattress covered:
- Reselling the mattress: If you buy a used mattress or one from a third-party seller, you wont be covered after the first year. Understand that the first year is measured from the date the bed was purchased new from Sleep Number, not from the date you bought it used.
- Unsanitary condition: A mattress must be in sanitary condition to be covered under warranty. If pests, body fluids, or other unsanitary damage make a product unfit for inspection, the warranty becomes null.
- Improper support:Sleep Number mattresses have specific foundation needs. If you use your new mattress on an unapproved foundation, the warranty can become void. Use your new mattress on a Sleep Number base or an adjustable base or firm, non-spring foundation that can support the weight of the Smart Bed.
- Tampering with the Firmness Control system: Do not open the Firmness Control system. Any tempering of this system can void the warranty.
Adjust The Mattress Daily
For queen-size and bigger Sleep Number beds that come with dual air chambers, reinflating and adjusting the mattress daily is a must. While the ability to adjust your side of the bed separately from your partner is what attracts many, it is the same thing that causes sinking in the middle portion of the mattress. With dual-chamber models, the inner sides of each bed half fall in the middle of the bed. Because these inner sides become the part of the bed that receives the most pressure due to the shoulders and hips, a Trench Effect is created when two people have different sleep numbers.
Which Sleep Number Bed Pump Do You Have
It goes by the hose connections, being able to see the Sleep Number® pump connections with the foam rail at the head of the bed removed, you will be able to count the number of hoses attached.
1 = a single chamber Sleep Number® bed – twin , twin xl, full, queen single chamber.
2 = either 2 hoses to a single Sleep Number® chamber?
2 = 1 hose to each of 2 Sleep Number® air chambers
4 = 2 hoses to each Sleep Number® air chamber
if so, “do you have 1 smaller hose and 1 larger hose on your Sleep Number® bed? Or are they both the same size?”
Because a Sleep Number® bed Pump with dual ports operation is different than single port pump operation
– with a Sleep Number® bed pump that has a single port per side the pump inflates and reads the pressure to one side in the same hose!
– with a Sleep Number® bed pump that has 2 hoses per side dual port pump operation one hose inflates and deflates and one only reads pressure.
– this is important because If you cap off the small hose port of your Sleep Number® bed pump and the pump can not read the pressure you may end up blowing a seam in your Sleep Number® bed air chamber!
– Make sure to have your Air Leak Repair Kits ready, we offer fast shipping options to get them to you quick..
Once you have found out how many connections you have, you will be able to order the correct number of repair parts needed.

What We Think About Sleep Number Mattresses
In general, we think you can get a more comfortable mattress for a lot less. But if you insist on Sleep Numbers adjustability because you and your partner cant compromise on a firmness level, and you have a flexible budget, we think only the Performance Series and Innovation Series mattresses and the Cooling Memory Foam mattress are worth considering. The less expensive Classic Series mattresses and the Value Bed lines are just too thin for most people. If you like a plush mattress with good support, then you should spend more for the Innovation Series beds, which have thicker cushioning.
Beyond SleepIQ, Sleep Numbers marketing also touts technology that claims to help you fall asleep faster with a foot-warming feature. You can also theoretically control your partners snoring by raising the upper portion of their side of the bed. However, these features are available only with the companys adjustable bases , which cost between $1,200 and $2,400 for a queen.
Heres how the mattresses themselves compare to one another:
Air Bed Chamber Replacement Prices
Air bed-chamber replacements come in a variety of sizes, materials, qualities, and features. Accordingly, prices vary depending on those primary factors.
The price of an air bed-chamber replacement ranges from around $100 to $450 and depends on its dimensions, material, and specific features. Typically, single-bladder replacements are cheaper than those consisting of two or more individual chambers. Also, air bed bladders made of synthetic materials are more affordable than those made of natural latex.
If you regularly use your air bed for camping, it’s likely that you will need some replacement items over time. Being able to lift your air bed off the ground while you sleep, might be something useful to consider. Don’t Miss: Why Can I Not Control My Bladder
Sleep Number Remote Not Working
The firmness of a Sleep Number bed is controlled via a remote or SleepIQ app.
Have trouble with the remote? Don’t fret as troubleshooting isn’t challenging. Two AA batteries run the Sleep Number 360 smart bed remote. In addition to following the remote’s set-up process, users need to ensure their bed is not only plugged in but also all the connections are secure.
When a remote stops working, inflating or deflating the mattress isn’t possible. The remote can stop working mainly because of two reasons
· Kinked hose
· Loss of power connection
If the bed’s Firmness Control System is not running as you try to deflate or inflate, it means that the system isn’t getting enough power. If that’s the case, push the power cord into the wall and system’s base.
If it is because of a kinked or loose hose connection, check to ensure the hose isn’t lined at the bed’s base and mattress. A kinked hose connection is also common with theFLEXFIT 3 SMART BASE. If this is the case, check the connection of the hose at the pump.
Another issue that affects a remote is the display not working. If the display light is dimmed or not working, consider changing the batteries. When doing that, insert the batteries and battery cover properly.

Replace The Bed Slats
One probable reason your bed is sinking in the middle may be due to the slats of your bed frame caving in. Therefore, it is essential to regularly inspect your Sleep Number mattress and comfort layer and the actual frame. It makes perfect sense as the frame carries your entire bed. For sturdier support, add 12 slats in the middle and consider replacing the standard 1×4 bed slat width with either 1×6 or 1×8. Furthermore, make sure to check that you are not missing any support rails.

Sleep Number Bed Sinks In The Middle
Without a doubt, Sleep Number beds have become a hit in the past decade. You can adjust these expensive airbed mattresses to settings from 1-100, according to your exact comfort level hence, the term Sleep Number. While this technical aspect puts it on top of a traditional permanent-use mattress, it is also a huge detriment that makes the bed more prone to sagging and other malfunctions.
If your Sleep Number bed sinks in the middle, fix the problem by replacing damaged parts, checking for air leaks, adjusting sleeper settings, or utilizing comfort layers. You can also contact customer support to order parts or get a replacement mattress if under warranty.
The presence of Sleep Number bed issues gives people the impression that this heftily-priced mattress might be a little too overrated. This article does not aim to approve or disprove this sentiment but intends to educate you further about Sleep Number bed models, the Trench Effect, and how to resolve this problem.

Going with the C2 and adding my own bells and whistles
Very grateful for Candid Reviewer’s advice. We were interested in the C2 after seeing the excellent rating it received from Consumer Reports, with high marks for durability, side and back sleeping. We went to the sleep number store, stuck to our plan and avoided being up- sold, and bought both the recommended fiber topper and a gel topper to experiment with once the C2 arrives. We also are using our old metal frame with a queen-size bunkie board , for a nice savings compared to the $300 foundation from sleep number. More $ for new sheets and bedding!
Not perfect but best mattress I’ve had in….well ever.
I will not buy any other bed again.
Best bed I ever had. I’m a big person 300 Plus pounds…At year 10 the pump went out and I called…they still had my info and sold me a new pump at 1/2 price. It’s went through 2 moves and is still great! My husband is also big so it stands up to heavy folks. Folks on the phone were friendly and helpful. I’m looking now to buy my son one.
So far, So Good!
Warning: Sleep Number Beds Last Only 6 Years
I wish I had not purchased this bed since I cannot find a good sleep position and will purchase another mattress
One moth in and love it, after a few tweaks
DO NOT BUY THIS BED!!!! READ YOUR WARRANTY!!!

Delivery Warranty And Returns
The Value Bed line ships free via UPS. Other lines can be delivered in-person for $200. You can pick a day and time window based on availability, and, if all works well, Sleep Numbers Comfort Service Home Delivery service team stops by with your mattress, configures the air pumps and app, and shows you how everything works. However, the delivery team missed my window twice because of New York City traffic . I received my bed on the third try, only to find out that I had been given a one-chamber instead of a two-chamber mattress, as requested. For my re-order, with the help of the Sleep Number public relations team, I was able to confirm a morning delivery and received the correct mattress without a hitch. To be fair, despite my experience, customer service wasnt a big pain point among the user reviews we analyzed.
Theres a 100-night free trial for all new Sleep Number mattresses, but you need to sleep on one for 30 nights before filing for a return. Plus, if you decide to return the mattress, theres at least a $200 fee to cover transportation costs. If you ordered an adjustable base with your mattress, that base cannot be returned.

Leesa With Adjustable Base
An incredible choice for hot, back and side sleepers, theLeesa with Adjustable Base is a popular and comfortable all-foam mattress. It brings with it an excellent balance of support and comfort making it a highly versatile choice for various types of sleepers.
Although it is all foam, it does a remarkable job of sleeping cool. Leesa utilizes a proprietary and high-quality LSA200 foam on its top comfort layer. The material is simultaneously responsive, breathable, bouncy and soft.
Under the top layer of foam is another one featuring slower-moving memory foam for more body contouring. The comfort layers are handy in creating a balanced foam feel that’s responsive and soft for the utmost pressure relief without getting stuck in the mattress.
While the memory foam and LSA200 foam is soft, its support layer is extremely firm making the mattress not-too-soft and not-too-firm.
Back sleeping on the mattress gives users a balance of support and comfort while the bottom base foam layer offers excellent overall support.
In terms of cover, the mattress has a breathable and soft cover made of twill fabric.
